Psalm 141 Pride (Part 2)

Psalm 141:8

But my eyes are fixed on You O’ Sovereign LORD

Pride……

As sin…….

When I act as if I don’t need God or anyone else.

When feeling good about me means you are diminished.

When my world becomes smaller because I can’t let you see my weakness.

Pride…..

As sin…….

Flows out of insecurity.

Flows out of the need to prove my own worth.

Flows out of having never accepted the Love of the Father.

Pride….

As sin……

Separates me from the Life and Love of God

Separates me from the lives and love of His people.

Now then…..

Pride…..

As a good thing…..

I can love me….

I can feel good about me…..

I can respect and admire me…..

I can take pride in what I have done……

Because……

I have accepted the Love of The Father

and……..

I know I am Loved and accepted by Him.

And so…..

There is no need………. to prove my worth.

There is no need…….. to diminish you.

There is no need……

To exalt myself.

Pride….

As a good thing…..

Flows out of the Life of Christ in me to flow  through me.

Father ,Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit,

I fix my eyes and my mind and my heart on You.

I fix my eyes and my mind and my heart on Your Love for me.

Thank You Father for building me up……
