Psalm 81 Obedience Really is the Key

Psalm 81:14

God Speaking:

“If my people would but listen to Me,

If Israel would but follow My ways;

How quickly would I subdue their enemies

And turn My hand against their foes”

Sometimes I ask God for wisdom-

He gives it-

I obey-

Life is good.

Sometimes I ask God for wisdom-

He gives it-

I disagree with it-

I do what I want-

Strife comes.

Sometimes I don’t ask at all-

I figure………. I got this one.

Strife continues.

Sometimes I don’t ask

Because I am afraid-

I just know He’s gonna tell me something-

Something I really, really, really………

Am not gonna want to do.

Strife turns to misery.

But then again……

Sometimes I ask God for wisdom-

He gives it-

I obey and…………

Life is good.

I really am getting better………

James 1:22

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves.

Do what it says.

Father

Thank You for Your patience with me-

Thank You for Your promise of

The good things that come from

Faithful Obedience.

Psalm 80 A Prayer that has been Answered!

Psalm 80: 3, 7 and 19

Restore us, O’ God Almighty

Make Your Face shine upon us,

That we may be saved.

It’s funny-

Strange even-

As I read through the Psalms-

I am coming to believe that things are somehow………..

Different now.

God has answered the Psalmist’s prayer………..

Right?

Christ has………

Come.

Christ is ……………

The very face of God shining upon us.

As I receive Him-

As I surrender to Him-

As I give my life over to Him-

I am………..

Saved.

I am……….

Made New.

I am……….

Restored.

This is the power of………..

The Rising.

Father,

Thank You for answering the plea of the Psalmist…….

In Christ.

1 John 5:20

We know also that the Son of God has come……

So that we may know Him who is true.

And we are in Him who is true by being in His Son Jesus Christ.

He is the true God and Eternal Life.

Psalm 79 Desperate Need and the Truth

Psalm 79:8-9

…..May Your mercy come quickly to meet us,

For we are in desperate need.

Help us, O’ God our Savior,

For the Glory of Your Name;

Deliver us and forgive our sins,

For Your Name’s sake.

Desperate need-

Really?

I don’t feel like I am in desperate need,

Until…………..

Things start going bad.

Here we go again-

Back to feelings and Truth.

Truth-

I am in desperate need.

Truth-

Father has provided all I need…….

For Life.

Father in Heaven

Thank You even for my hard times-

Thank You for the reminders of

My desperate need.

Thank You-

That even though You may not have brought on my troubles-

You use them to draw me deeper into-

Your Life.

Thank You Jesus- Praise be to You Holy Spirit-

That You have given all I need.

I choose here and now Father,

To take hold of-

To go out powerfully into-

To Live from-

Who I am to You!

Psalm 78 Remember What?

Psalm 78:42

They did not remember His Power

Or the day

He redeemed them from the enemy.

What do I choose to remember?

We can choose memories-

We can choose what to dwell on.

Oh, I am not speaking of the things-

That simply cross my mind.

There are many unwelcome memories-

That simply cross my mind.

I can choose to embrace them or……….

I can choose to reject them.

My new heart-

My new Christ filled Life can……….

So that they should set their hope in God and

Not forget the works of God

But keep His commandments.

In Judah God is known:

His name is great in Israel.

Where is your Judah?

Where is it that you know God?

Where is the Greatness of God found………
