Psalm 87 Fresh Springs

Psalm 87:6-7

The LORD will write in the register of the peoples:

“This one was born in Zion”

As they make music they will sing,

“All my fresh springs are in You”

Fresh Springs-

Hope-

Fullness-

Abundance-

Power-

Energy-

Goodness-

Strength-

Love-

Even…………..

Life Itself

Is in………

Him!

John 4:14

Jesus said,

But whoever drinks of the Water I give

Will never thirst.

Indeed the Water I give will become in you

A Spring of Water welling up to

Eternal Life.

Jesus, my Jesus

All praise be to You for

This Life You pour into me-

Psalm 86 Christ Died for My Whole Heart

Psalm 86:11

…..Give me an undivided heart……..

Surely Christ deserves……….

My whole heart.

Isaiah 53

He was despised and rejected by men,
   a man of suffering, and familiar with pain…………

Surely He suffered-

That I might have……….

A  new heart.

He was pierced for our transgressions,
   He was crushed for our iniquities;

Surely He was pierced and crushed-

That I might have………

A pure heart.

The punishment that brought us peace was upon Him,
   and by His wounds we are healed.

Surely my Savior deserves........
My Undivided Heart.

Father God-

Thank You for the gift of a new heart-

A whole heart.

Lord Jesus-

I give You my whole heart.

I renounce any lesser thing that would seek my allegiance-

Any lesser thing that would divide my heart.

Lord Jesus-

I give You my whole heart.

All of who I am…….

Is Yours.

Holy Spirit-

Bring to life-

The Heart of Jesus in me…….

Psalm 85:9

Surely His salvation is near

To those who fear Him,

That glory may dwell in the land.

Where is your “land”?

Is it your……..

Home-

School-

Work-

Play-Places?

Is it your………?

What’s it like?

Your “land”, that is.

Does glory dwell in it-

The very Glory of God?

Is your land full of……..

Peace-

Joy-

Power-

Love-

Hope-

Goodness?

Is it full of……….

Life?

Ah, the Glory of God,

Dwelling in the land-

Surely this is the Gospel-

Surely this is the Good News!

Psalm 85:12

Yes, the LORD will give what is good and

Our land will yield it’s increase!

Father

Thank You that as I

Fear You-

As I take You seriously-

As I do all that  I do with You in mind-

Thank You that Your Glory-

Your Very Presence-

Your Goodness and Love and Hope and Power-

That all of who You are-

Can dwell in my land.

Psalm 84 Don't Forget The Giver

Psalm 84:5

Blessed are those whose strength is in You.

From where do I draw my strength?

My confidence?

My courage?

My energy………….

To do life?

I have to confess here guys-

Many times I catch myself perfectly willing-

Willing to navigate life-

Willing to live from-

From my own……….

Cleverness-

Resources-

Skills-

Position-

Experience-

And on- and on- and on- and……….

Now-

Please, please, please, please, please……..

Don’t misunderstand.

It’s not that these are bad things.

The Truth is they are-

God given.

I am thankful for any of these gifts I have-

I want to use them well-

But………

To find my strength in the gift,

Rather than the Giver…….

Well it’s simply………..

A recipe for disaster.

John 15:5

Jesus said,

 ”I am the vine; you are the branches.

Whoever abides in Me and I in him,

He it is that bears much fruit,

For apart from Me

You can do

Nothing”

Father, Thank You

For the gifts and abilities You have given me,

But more than all these-

Thank You for  You.

You are my True Strength-

My True Source of Life.

Holy Spirit take me deeper into the Life of Jesus today-

So that I may truly Live.

Psalm 83 It Doesn't Have To Be So Hard

Psalm 83:14-16

As fire consumes the forest,

As the flame sets the mountain ablaze,

So may You (God) pursue them with Your tempest

And terrify them with Your hurricane!

Fill their faces with shame,

That they may seek Your Name,

O’ LORD.

The words,

“By any means necessary”

Come to mind.

There are places in my life-

Hard places-

Places where the enemy-

Seems to have a foothold.

Places where I have allowed pride…..

To rule me.

Places where old fleshly ways of doing life-

Seem firmly entrenched.

These things are not me-

But I must contend with them none the less.

It may take a tempest-

The terror of a hurricane……..

To move me-

To compel me……….

To seek the Name of the LORD.

It doesn’t have to-

It can be much simpler.

Matthew 11:28

Jesus said, ”Come unto me………”

LORD,

I pray it be simpler.

Please continually move in my heart to

Follow You.

Psalm 82 No More Businees as Usual........... A Revolution

Psalm 82:3-4

Give justice to the weak and fatherless;

Maintain the right of the afflicted and destitute.

Rescue the weak and needy,

Deliver them from the hand of the wicked.

The very Heart of God is toward……….

The Needy

The Broken

The Poor

The Afflicted

The Wounded

The Destitute

The Weak……

The very Heart of God is toward………

Me.

Romans 5:8

But God demonstrates His own Love for us in this;

While we were still sinners,

Christ died for us.

This is the Heart of God-

This is the new heart He has given us.

This is……….

Christ in us.

There is but one thing left to do…….

Live it out and so…….

Bring on the Revolution!

Thank You for the Life You have placed in me.

I pray You live powerfully through me today-

So that the world may know Your Heart-

So that the Revolution of Christ in this world-

Fills this world.
