Psalm 106 They Did What?

Psalm 106: 13 and 20

But they soon forgot what the LORD had done……..

They exchanged their glory for

The  image of an ox

Which eats grass.

Really?

They did what?

But wait a minute,

Before I go off on those guys,

What about…….

Us?

Do we remember…..

Do we take time to ponder…….

Do we set aside time to intentionally

Go back into………

What the LORD has done for us?

His works of Love,

And Goodness,

And Power……..

In our own lives?

I am  afraid………..

Afraid that if I’m not remembering,

Then maybe I’m forgetting.

It is a dangerous thing.

They forgot……….

They forgot His Love,

They forgot His Goodness,

They forgot His Power.

And so………

They exchanged their glory,

The Glory of God with them……..

For what?

Christian………

Do you remember that you have

The Glory of God with you?

Check that………

Even more than with you……….

Do you know that you have

The Glory of God……….

The very Life of Christ……..

In you……

To pour out through you.

Oh………….the wonder of it.

Father,

I will remember.

Jesus,

Thank You-

For making me a participant in Your…….

 Glory.

Holy Spirit,

Please bring the Life of Christ in me

To my remembrance moment by moment

Today and evermore.

Psalm 85:9

Surely His salvation is near

To those who fear Him,

That glory may dwell in the land.

Where is your “land”?

Is it your……..

Home-

School-

Work-

Play-Places?

Is it your………?

What’s it like?

Your “land”, that is.

Does glory dwell in it-

The very Glory of God?

Is your land full of……..

Peace-

Joy-

Power-

Love-

Hope-

Goodness?

Is it full of……….

Life?

Ah, the Glory of God,

Dwelling in the land-

Surely this is the Gospel-

Surely this is the Good News!

Psalm 85:12

Yes, the LORD will give what is good and

Our land will yield it’s increase!

Father

Thank You that as I

Fear You-

As I take You seriously-

As I do all that  I do with You in mind-

Thank You that Your Glory-

Your Very Presence-

Your Goodness and Love and Hope and Power-

That all of who You are-

Can dwell in my land.

Be exalted O’ God above the heavens!

Let Your Glory be over all the earth.

What comes to mind-

When you think of………

The Glory of God?

I think we should be clear on one thing-

God is not on some ego trip-

That He would need our affirmation.

No-

I have come to believe

The Glory of God is

The display of………..

Himself…………..Who He is-

His Love-

His Justice-

His Power-

His Compassion-

His Grace-

His Faithfulness-

His Care-

His Abundant Life-

His Beauty-

His Brilliance-

His Hope-

His…………………

The Glory of God might be the display of all these,

And more than we could ever imagine through……….

Jesus-

Who has come-

So that you might be……..

Fully Alive!

Father-

Open our hearts to be instruments of Your Glory today.
