I Just Thought You Should Know......

1 Timothy 1:16

But for that very reason

(that I was the worst of sinners)

I was shown mercy,

So that in me, the worst of sinners,

Christ Jesus might display His unlimited patience

As an example for those who would believe on Him

And receive Eternal Life.

Have you ever been in love?

Maybe romantic love…..Or maybe just…….

Love for something… an activity… or an experience.

Me…….

I love lots of things….

I love my wife…

I love my children….

I love teaching…..

I love writing……

I love coaching a team….

I love spending time with friends….

I love thinking somehow……

In some way……..

Maybe….. I have been a part…….

A part of what Jesus is doing in this world.

It’s curious to me…….

How the things I love……..

Well… they’ve changed me.

Now, I’ll tell you….

I am not quite sure

I would describe myself as……

“The Worst of Sinners”

Before I received the Life of Jesus…..

But I am quite sure……..

I was a sinner.

I was lost.

I was broken with no hope of fixing myself.

There was not Life…..

There was only existence.

Pain, rejection, anxiety, striving…….

Even…… self-loathing.

Ah, but then there’s Jesus.

Jesus…..

The one who loves the helpless.

The one who reaches out to the rejected.

The one who offers Love…. and Hope….. and Life…...

Even to the worst of sinners.

Jesus……..

I fell in Love with Jesus.

Loving Him has changed me.

Loving Him continues…… to change me.

I am a New Creation…..

I have been reborn….

I have a Father….

I am a Child of The Great King….

And yes…..

The very Life of the Creator….

The Creator of all that is or was or ever will be…..

His Life……. Flows through me.

Oh now,

Please don’t misunderstand……

I know I still sin…..

But I am not a sinner.

No…… at my deepest core……

I am in Christ.

He has given me a new heart…… A good heart.

A heart that is alive, and able…..

To Love.

I love Jesus for that.

I just thought you should know.

Father, Lord Jesus, Spirit of The Living God,

Thank You that even in my ugliness You Loved me.

Thank You for pouring Your Own Life out for me and  into me…..

So that.....

I may truly Live.

Psalm 116 Servants....but wait......

Psalm 116:16

O’ LORD, truly I am Your servant;

I am Your servant, Your faithful son;

You have freed me from my chains.

Father is good to His servants.

They are treated with justice and equity.

Mercy is extended where needed-

They are cared for.

His servants live in the care of a good Master.

Oh, the blessing of being His servant,

But wait…………

We are more than that-

More than servants………..

We are His.........

sons and daughters

Father is extravagant towards His children.

We are treated with Love and Grace.

Power is bestowed where needed.

We are held close.

We live in the care of an awesome Father.

Oh, the blessing of being His children!

1 John 3:1

How great is the Love the Father has lavished upon us;

That we should be called children of God,

For that is what we are…..

Psalm 114 Christ in Us- Let the Adventure Begin!

Psalm114:2 and 7

Judah became God’s Sanctuary,

Israel His Dominion.

Tremble O’ earth at the presence of the LORD…..

God Himself inhabited a people.

His Glory went out before them,

And well……

Things happened.

Seas parted,

Rivers came to a stop,

Walls fell.

Yes…… Things happened.

The Dominion of the LORD,

On display for the world to see.

Christians,

The day we placed our faith in Christ,

We became……

God’s Sanctuary……..

Even expressions of His Dominion.

Galatians 2:20

……It is no longer I who live,

But Christ lives in me.

2 Timothy 1:7

…….He has given me a Spirit of Power…….

Have we grasped this truth?

Can we begin to live from this truth…..

The Life and Power of God…….In us?

Identity-

Who am I……..

Really?

I think maybe names are meant to…..

Define us. 

Why did it hurt so much to be called

 “fatty”

On the playground?

Why did it feel so good to be called……..

“The Professor”

On the basketball court-

This was a time when the best player in the game was

“The Doctor”

Why is it so important that one day..........

Father will give me a new name?

Names mean something-

They tell you something-

Names have Power and express …….

Identity.

Guys-

Know this-

When we use the name of…….

or

Pray in the Name of…….

Jesus-

The Christ-

The Messiah-

The Savior-

The Lord-

The King-

The Mighty God……

We’d best be looking hard to be in agreement with…..

Who He Is-

His Character-

His Goodness-

His Love.

Mark 9:41

Jesus said, “Truly I tell you,

anyone who gives you a cup of water

In My Name

because you belong to the Messiah

will certainly not lose their reward.”

Father move in me today to live from the Power of

Your Name.

Forget your people and your father’s house.

The King (Jesus) is enthralled by your beauty:

Honor Him

For He is your Lord.

Whose are you?

From where do you get your name?

“Forget your people and your father’s house.”

There is no doubt that our families are a blessing-

A gift from God Himself-

So that we can feel His Love through them-

So that we can live out His Love to them-

But…………………..

Jesus…… He is our Lord

He is the One who has brought us to Life-

He is the One who will give me a new name (Rev. 2:17)

I am His.
