Psalm 93 Why Fight It?

Psalm 93:1

The LORD reigns

He is robed in majesty

The LORD is robed in majesty and

Armed with Strength.

The LORD Rules-

This is His Show-

He is the Hero of this Story-

His Purposes will be accomplished-

His Will cannot be thwarted.

God is………..

The LORD.

Creator, Sustainer and Ruler……….

Of

All that was-

Or is-

Or ever will be-

Get the picture?

Believe it?

Then stop fighting it.

Oh…………

And don’t forget-

There is a bit more to the picture.

This Sovereign Ruler-

This All Powerful LORD-

This Creator God-

Guys……….

Get this now…….

How great is the Love

The Father has lavished upon us

That we should be called children of God

For that is what we are.

Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit

I pray You be at work in us today-

To bow to Your Power-

And

Live from Your Love

And

So truly to…..

Live.

Psalm 92 The Difference that makes the Difference

Psalm 92:1-2

It is good to praise the LORD……

To proclaim His Love in the morning

And His Faithfulness at night.

Ah to go forward into the day-

Remembering-

Knowing-

Proclaiming…………

Father’s Great Love for me.

This one thing-

Taken to heart and lived from-

God Loves me!

Wow-

What a difference it makes to proclaim-

To live from………

This one thing.

And what about before I lay my head down at night-

To think back on the day-

Remembering-

Knowing –

Proclaiming………….

God has been Faithful towards me!

Try it guys.

It might be the

Difference……..

That makes the Difference.

Father

Today I will live from the Truth of

Your Great Love for me

And so…..

Tonight as I reflect back on Your Faithfulness

I will know that I have truly………

Lived.

Psalm 91 Why are you so Busy?

Psalm 91:1

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High

Will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

Rest-

Really…………..?

Rest?

I thought I was supposed to be doing stuff.

I thought the busier I was.......

The better I was-

I thought the busier I was……..

The more important I was.

I thought the more I did-

The more useful I could be to God-

The more He would like me-

Maybe even.......

Be proud of me.

Maybe if I can just do enough-

Accomplish enough-

Win enough-

Maybe then………

They will all see-

They will all see and……….

Love me.

Foolishness- Foolishness- Foolishness-

All this………… 

Striving-

Chasing-

Pursuing-

For what?

Validation?

Respect?

A sense that my life………

Counts for something?

You young guys take heed of this-

You will never be able to do enough-

Accomplish enough-

Achieve enough-

To be satisfied that.........

Your life has been......

Enough.

Give it up-

Surrender-

Surrender to the Truth-

The Truth that……….

Father loves you.

Dwell in Him-

Live in that Truth

And.......

Rest.

Matthew 11:28

Come unto Me

All you who are weary and  heavy laden and

I will give you.......

Rest......

Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit,

Move in me today to settle into the Truth-

The Truth of Your Great Love for me-

The Truth that as I dwell in You-

The Truth that as You live in and through me-

I can.........

Psalm 90 What if........

Psalm 90:12

Teach us to number our days aright-

That we may gain a heart of wisdom.

You’ve heard the question before-

Maybe even contemplated it-

“What would you do if you knew……..

You only had a ___ to live?

A sense of urgency rises in me.

My mind seems to………

Take off on its own-

To spontaneously begin to sort through the random-

Searching……… Looking ……..

For what’s important.

Father-

Teach me-

Open my eyes to see-

Transform the way I do life-

Because of the reality of…………

Death.

Father-

Psalm 89 Open Up Your Eyes

Psalm 89:14-15

Righteousness and Justice are the foundation of Your Throne;

Love and Faithfulness go before You.

Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim You,

Who walk in the light of Your Presence.

Walking-

Doing Life-

From my rising in the morning-

To the time………

I lay my head on that pillow in the evening-

Walking………..

In the light of His presence.

Oh my-

The wonder of it all.

So much more than-

Being religious-

Trying to be good-

Managing my temptations-

It is so much more………

This walking.

Imagine-

Stepping onto a ship to sail to…….

Imagine-

The first steps of………..

Some great adventure.

Open up your eyes-

Imagine-

Today!

Alive!

Doing Life!

Walking with God Himself into ………..

Father,

Impress on me the reality of this day-

Not just another day-

But a great adventure-

A great quest for all that You bring me into.

Strengthen me-

Give me Wisdom and Courage

So that I may play my part well-

So that I may walk boldly

Into Your Great Story.

Psalm 88 This Changes Everything

Psalm 88:16-17

Your wrath has swept over me;

Your terrors have destroyed me.

All day long they surround me like a flood;

They have completely engulfed me.

No more……..

No more is this so for………

The one who gives his life to the Savior.

All God’s Wrath-

All of His Anger-

All of His Fury-

All of it-

Was taken-

By Christ………

For me.

Yes indeed-

This changes everything!

1 Thessalonians 5:9-10

⁹ For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath,

But to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.

 ¹⁰ He died for us so that………………. we may live together with Him.

Father-

I read the words of the Psalmist,

And I do not take Your Wrath lightly.

In his words I feel the pain of my Savior and

I say

Thank You my Jesus-

Thank You.
