Psalm 52 Practice..........Really? Practice?

Psalm 52:2

Your tongue plots destruction;

It is like a sharpened razor,

You who practice deceit.

Practice

I cannot tell you all how many hours I have spent………

Practicing.

Getting ready for the real deal.

In all that time I have come to a firm conviction-

We play like we………….

Practice.

So then-

What are we practicing?

In my thoughts-

Am I practicing commitment to the Truth

Or

Am I tossed about by every whim and emotion?

In my words-

Am I practicing Truth out loud in the Spirit of Love

Or

Am I just saying what I think you want to hear?

In my actions-

Is the Love of Father pouring out of my hands

Or

Is my energy spent only making sure I look good?

The real deal is coming………….

Today.

Pray with me-

Father

Be powerful in us  today-

To be practiced and ready

To live out Love for You

And all the people you bring our way.

Psalm 51 The Heart of the Matter

Psalm 51:10

Create in me a pure heart O’ God

And renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Okay guys-

What comes to mind when you think of……

The heart?

Could it be the deepest, truest, inmost self-

The real person?

The center from which Life............

Or death............flows?

The place where motives-

And will -

And desire-

All come together into the perfect storm-

A powerful, mysterious force.........

That moves us?

Now, how about your own heart-

Is it good or is it bad?

Is it pure or is it wicked?

Oh, but let’s go back to an earlier question-

A question that must be answered first……………..

What have you given your heart to?

Have you presented that deepest, truest you to.........

The Christ?

The One who can bring it to Life.

Can you trust Him……….

Will you trust Him...........

With your heart?

You do know, don’t you……

That He is The Only One who can answer the Psalmist prayer-

Who can answer our own prayer………..

For a pure heart.

2 Corinthians 5:17

Behold if anyone is in Christ-

He is a new Creation-

The old has gone and

The new has come!

Thank You Jesus for the new heart

You have given me-

For the Life that can flow from

Your own Heart in me.

Psalm 50 Want God to Show You His Salvation?

Psalm 50: 23

The one who offers thanksgiving as his sacrifice

Honors Me (God).

This one prepares the way

So that I (God) may show him My Salvation.

Hmmmmm…………..

So thanksgiving

Prepares the way-

Maybe prepares my heart and mind-

So that God may show me…………

His Salvation.

I want to see God’s Salvation-

Father thank You for my

Health

Strength

Energy

Wife

Children

Family

Friends

Work place

Home

Stuff

Hopes

Abilities

Struggles

Pain

Today……….

Even this next breath I take in.

Father move deeply in my spirit so that-

I Live from a sense of utter thankfulness……….

To You.

Father thank You for the Life and Love You have placed in me.

I pray these fill me so much that they overflow everywhere I go…….

Today.

Hey ya’ll

I think I’m beginning to see it-

I think I am beginning to see His Salvation.

Father thank You…………

Psalm 49 But God.......

Psalm 49:13-15

This is the fate of those

Who trust in themselves……………..

They are destined for the grave

Death will feed on them……

But God

Will redeem my life from the grave

He will surely take me to Himself.

Where do you put your trust?

In your abilities or…………

In the One who gave them to you?

Certainly we are called to act intentionally-

To “work out” what Father has put in us…………

But God-

He is the One who takes all of my effort-

All of my abilities-

All of my cleverness………..

And works in these for His own purposes-

Good Purposes-

From a Good Father-

Who Loves me-

Who has redeemed me and………..

Who will take me to Himself!

Psalm 48 Let's go to the Temple.....No Wait....We're there Already!

Psalm 48:9

 Within your temple, O God,
   we meditate on your unfailing love.

John 2:22

 But the temple Jesus had spoken of was his body.

Heavenly Father-

Within Your temple-

Within this body You inhabit-

Within this Life You have given me-

I will meditate on-

I will be consumed with-

I will live from……………..

Your Unfailing Love.

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit,

who is in you, whom you have received from God?

Psalm 47 Are You a king?

Psalm 47:8-9

God reigns over the nations;
   God is seated on His holy throne.
 The nobles of the nations assemble
   as the people of the God of Abraham,
for the kings of the earth belong to God;
   He is greatly exalted.

Are you a king?

Do you have something-

anything………..

You rule and reign over?

Please don’t misunderstand-

I realize-

We are all under authority-

All of us.

Yet, isn’t it true the Great King has given us all-

Something…..

Maybe even many things-

To rule and reign over.

Maybe it’s simply your time-

Or at least chunks of it-

Maybe it’s your body-

How you will care for it-

Maybe it’s your mind-

What you will allow into it………

You get the picture- Don’t you?

So then……..

As a king who belongs to-

Well………. the Great King

How are you handling your kingdom?

You know.................

Those things the Great King has given you charge over.

“For the kings of the earth belong to God”
